Light Denied by Mangala - Book Review

A simple story that could motivate and keep you emotionally attached with the protagonist, not because of her disability but because of her courage that was motivated in her by her world around in form of friends and family, is what comprises the overall plot of Light Denied.

Light Denied is the story of ‘Mukhi’ who is blind since her birth. The problems she faces in daily life, her thoughts, her own world, her family and friends and most importantly, her fight with herself, is what the author has tried to portray with her simple and effective narration.

The one character which stands out of the story is Mukhi’s grandmother. Her image would remain in your memory for sure even after putting the book back in the shelf after finishing it.

The book never loses the grip over the audience, from start to finish. Though the plot is very simple but still the author’s magic has worked in keeping the hold.

I would rate it 3.5/5 stars.

Milton wants to question God as to whether God will still demand excellence of him even after taking away his eyesight. The heroine of story Viswathomukhi also has the same question to God. She strives and struggles in the society which sees disability as a liability and awards a negative value to it. We come across many examples of this kind in our daily life. We never lend our ears or hands to these people in our selfish and materialistic battle in life.

The story revolves around loving grandparents, especially the mental strength of the granny, the beautifully woven friendship, the dedicated teachers and Mukhi’s struggle. Did she win her battle in life? Read this wonderful book to know the real meaning of humanity and love.

Hidden Husband by Shikha Kaul - Book Review

World seems to be changing around us but still we do have to travel a pretty long distance when it comes to choosing our life partner in our society. On the same plot runs the story of Hidden Husband. A ‘legitimate’ marriage of a couple but still hidden from the society. The story revolves round Aisha’s love life with Raghav. After finishing the novel you did feel bad for them but author played a great trick at the end. She left the story on a pretty good point which will surely leave a smile on your face.

Shikha Kaul has written the story in very simple language and the narration of the story is pretty commendable, keeping this at mind that the author is debuting with this novel.

There are few points in books which actually make the reader clinch the book tightly and eyebrows rise up automatically. I would surely recommend this book to everyone who wants to read good literature and a refreshing story. I loved the characterization of all the character but especially Aisha because it was easy to connect with her.

I will rate this book 4/5.

Asha Ke Pankh by Neelam Saxena Chandra - Book Review

Asha Ke Pankh, as the name suggests is based on motivation. This is the collection of motivations poems written by various poets contributing to Hindi Literature but major portion is of Neelam ma'am. Every poem speaks to you and wants to wake you up out of that depressed state of yours and want you to stand against all the odds standing in front of you. Some of the poetries are so brilliantly written that you need some time to come back to real world and swallow the hues around you.

I would surely love to recommend this book to everyone who loves to read Hindi Poetry. This collection is worth reading. I'll rate this 4.5/5.

Things End But Memories Last Forever BY Kumar Milan - Book Review

Things end but memories last forever is one book that reminds of school days, that friendship, first love and the madness of teenage. The starts in a great pace which seems to be pretty vague because many events seems to be skipped. Narration is brilliantly done, dialogues are beautifully crafted. The only drawback about the book is it's editing and the writing style of the author. My verdict about the book would be 'a great story that fell flat because of technicalities.'

I would rate the book 3 out of 5 and will surely wait for the next book of the author because I can see the potential of the author that will surely be coming out in next ventures. I wish him great future.

This novel seems like more of an autobiography and has the creating of her own profession..
This is a great novel and ought to have a great element of predictibility but the character of CAPTAIN MEERA KHANNA seems to have influenced by bollywood-pot-boilers.. and it starts mandering after a few pages..the author seems to be in a hurry to finish the book and hence it resulted in incomplete characterisation ...
All in all it' a good atempt for a beginner but i m sure priyanka luthra will hone her skills subsequently ..!

Usually it is said that 1st job is every person's dream and one has to be very precise while taking financial decisions..! The author has aptly caught the right string and has studied human behaviour very nicely ...
An individual ( who so ever reads this novel ) will surely relate to these mistakes !!
One can pay heed to these mistakes and can rectify the same , by focusing more on these mistakes...

My verdict..

The author has given 10 wise theories and gritties of the corporate world.. emphasis have been laid on all the levels of management and these theories are made by keeping all the levels in mind..!
The author has used simple language and is easily understandable . If one is joining his/her new job , he/she can use the following theories at the work place and hence will be successful too..!

All in all , uttam kumar has done a brilliant debut with this amazing book and i m sure he will hons his skills in his subsequent efforts..

Exit Interview by Amrita Mukherjee - Book Review

Exit Interview by Amrita Mukherjee looks pretty good from its cover. It grabbed my attention instantly, I loved it the initial phase as it started to unfold the world of the protagonist, which was damn interesting, in a quick session. I was totally hooked into the story. The basic concept of the book was about the hardship that a woman has to face in her working place.

The disappointing part of the book is its second part. It’s very slow and moreover turns out to be very philosophical, which was totally unexpected after the pacy first half of the book. Although in the end, the book concludes at a very good point.

If the book would have been a little short of length or the second half would have been written tightly, this story could have done wonders. Although I loved the writing of the author.

I’ll give this one 3.5/5 stars. Deserves to be read.
