Creating my Ideal Customer Avatar.

Understanding what my target audience is:

While our first assignment was pretty much understanding about the basics, 2nd assignment will help us in understanding what our customer’s base would be.
Before you start, let us take a quick recap of what we learnt in the first class:
1.     What exactly is Digital marketing
2.     How to ‘Find the gold’
3.     Understand what the Golden triangle is
In this assignment, we will be talking at length about what these concepts are and how they will always stand tall and make sense in our career.

GOLDEN TRIANGLE – LEARN, DO, TEACH


Whatever we learn, our ultimate aim is to grasp it so well that we can implement it in our real lives and if time comes we should have the potential to teach someone. That is what the ULTIMATE PURPOSE of the golden triangle is – to help understand things in a much fun way.


Now the question that arises in anyone’s mind after reading this is: WHY SHOULD IT BE DONE THIS WAY ONLY?


Let me take a classic example from my life and explain it to you in a fun way : let’s just go in the past and reminisce our school days. Back then when I was in 2nd standard my Maths Teacher taught me BODMAS rule and being a chatterbox I was so busy in gossiping with my newly made friends that I just grasped about 20% of what I was taught and even before I could understand and apply it to solve the complex problems that I was given up as homework, the teacher left the classroom. To save my ass, I immediately rushed to the most studious kid of our class and asked her to explain the concept to me. Not only she just taught me but also made her fundamentals clear by explaining it to someone who was in dire need of some explaining.


This is how the Golden triangle works- whenever you learn something, make sure you teach it to someone. Whenever you teach, you understand things in a better way.


MISTAKES ARE FUTURE BENEFITS –




In following this approach you might fail tones of times. You might stumble; you might face a lot of hurdles, might commit some mistakes too but ALWAYS REMEMBER ‘the mistakes you make today are the benefits that you will get the value of in the near future'.


We humans are constantly put in a lot of pressure by outside factors that we often quit even before starting it. In this generation and age where everyone’s depicting their picture perfect perfection, we constantly fear of the mistakes that we might make in the process. Always remember, never try to be perfect in short term and never be afraid of making mistakes. Do not hesitate to take the first step and once you take it, just focus on doing things. Everyone has to start somewhere and that first step you take will take you to where you wish to be, nobody’s perfect and the ones who tells you they are, believe me they are just bluffing. In the process of becoming something all you have to do is to ‘CREATE VALUE FOR OTHERS’.


You are going to makes mistake, you just have to make sure that every step you take in the process of becoming something,  become the very best version of your own self.

HOW TO BECOME A GOOD MARKETER?

GAIN EXPERIENCE – 


When I first started sending out my marketing proposal I was not that great in turning a potential client into an actual client. As time went by, I realized I need to learn too many knick-knacks of actually running a business and one of the biggest skill that was very important to excel at was to be a very good conversationalist.

 I had to make sure that I was able to paint a vision for their product and how I’d make their book a bestseller. Believe me, before I got into this trade I always thought of myself as a very confident, suave and an excellent conversationalist but reality hit me hard. Then I realized what was the reason behind such a big difference, the fact that the conversation that I had before was with my friends and the comfort level that we guys share is something that I lacked with my clients.

I realized what my problem was and the solution was right in front of me.

‘If I could not converse well 1-1 then how can I converse with 1-many’.
Well to be an excellent marketer I have to make sure that I become an excellent communicator. 

Everything else can be taken care of, be it writing blog posts, mailers, communicating to my audience via mailers if I just learn to address them as a friend and not as their mentor.

Deepak sir asked us while reading his mails; do we feel that he is talking to us directly? And I realized, YES INFACT HE IS.



WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE AUTHENTIC TO COMMUNICATE BETTER?

Deepak sir quoted ‘people are tired of fake people with social persona and everyone’s attracted to someone real’.

Have you ever seen influencers on social media promoting the products they are paid heavily for but have you ever questioned them whether they believe in the product? If you do you’d realize 90% of the influencers out there would not swear or stand for the authenticity or words they tend to make us believe viz-a-via their campaigns.
There’s a very thin line of character differentiation between fake and genuine influencers and that is their CREDIBILITY AND ATTRACTIVENESS.

As an example, I see Deepak sir In positive light.

Deepak sir helps people become what he is today. He always stands on his grounds and make people believe in the products he sells. His USP is that he himself became a brand first n he leads people by giving people his own example.
For me he is a classic renowned example of an authentic influencer who believe in their product and help you reach where you wish to reach.
What we learnt here – as an influencer you should make sure that you talk about the issues that matter without thinking about the response you might get from your audience. Having a voice that is heard is important.

Now the main question arises: WHO IS A BETTER MARKETER?


PEOPLE WITH MORE LIFE EXPERIENCES ARE BETTER MARKETERS. 

That’s right. You need not to have professional degrees or know tones of things. Strange no. for starters, what matters is that how well can a person who you trying to sell your product or services too, connects with you and if you a person who could just help them relate with you at some level, they are all yours.


To gain new life experiences you have to make sure that you TRAVEL, LEARN NEW LANGUAGES AND TRY NEW THINGS ALL THE TIME.

You need to find out who your audience is and as Deepak sir quoted, ‘if everyone is your audience, then no one is your audience’.
Now you must be thinking how to find out who our target audience is, the answer is simple. Here’s when ‘Customer avatar’ comes to your rescue.

HOW TO DEFINE YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE?

We need to figure out and differentiate our target audience on the basis of DEMOGRAPHICS and PHYSIO-GRAPHICS data.

While in Demographics we figure out ‘WHO’ our buyer is where as Physiographic defines ‘WHY THEY BUY IT

Demographics include gender, age, income etc

Physio graphic includes lifestyle, social class, attitude, beliefs etc.

So how do you write to your customer avatar?




1.     You have to write in a way that it addresses to one customer at a time.
2.     Connect with them 1:1. Make sure you address them as if you writing to a friend and they should connect with you on some level.
3.     Understand what your customers needs is try to address the elephant in the room.
4.     Emails and messaging are mediums that are way too powerful than any social media. Make sure you write it in such a personalized way that it seems like you are conversing to them 1-1
5.     The 1st sentence you write has to be strong than the headline, 2nd sentence should be stronger than the first and so on. Headline>1st sentence>2nd sentence>3rd>4th. The message you are trying to convey via your article should be written in a way that it speaks to the audience.
6.     You might feel awkward sometime while extracting information from your Customer, you need not to feel awkward. Awkwardness’s an indicator of learning.

When you make your customer avatar, make sure you FOCUS ON CENTRE AND NOT ON THE BORDER.

Now that you know how to identify your ideal customer via your customer avatar survey, let us start the journey of knowing what he/she would look like. Creating the buyer’s persona is just the first step.

Make sure you create a questionnaire that figures out what our customer’s needs and desires are, you have to dive deep and find out as much as you can about your customer.

Now that we have all the key points of creating our customer avatar, I made out a questionnaire and sent it across to my CUSTOMERS and the IDEAL buyer persona for my service looks like this:

This is what my ideal customer’s persona looks like. 

Buyer persona’s nothing but a niche that you select things from the pool of sea and things that you can sell/promote.

As a service provider we have to focus on our target customer and create the best of our capability and create value for money.

A newbie on her way to become a Digital Marketer.

Whenever someone hears digital marketing there’s this one name that strikes immediately whether it’s on Google or on any social media and that is DIGITAL DEEPAK. The very man who has not only been my inspiration but also made me believe that there’s a huge market out there that is waiting to be discovered. Ever since I enrolled into this internship I have just been waiting to learn. 

To start with, I am Tushti Bhatia a CA DROPOUT, post graduate and an entrepreneur. The foremost thing that I learnt while entering this field was to never stop learning and always be the most brilliant version of yours. Deepak sir said when you turn your passion into profession it never gets boring. I have been passionate for reading books and that is how I got into the field of reviewing and that led me into this field of BOOK MARKETING. I saw tones of loopholes and the struggles that authors face after publishing that I decided to start off with my own venture back in 2015. I have worked with a lot of bestselling authors and have helped them reach heights, it was quite enthralling but something just dint felt right and I knew this is the time to broaden my horizon and to dive into the vast sea of knowledge and gain some.  This internship will not only help me reach my professional goals but also that’d make me a disciplined person and the quench that I have of learning new things I hope it gets fulfilled. I have been studying from digital Deepak from the past 2 years, from reading his mails to buying courses from him and mugging them up like bible I have done it all and it turned out quite beneficial from me and whatever lil knowledge I have gained, I give the credits to my master. I have not been able to attain excellence and this internship shall help me achieve it.

As the population and economy rises, the number of problem rises too and as the problem grows, we have to come up with their possible solutions too. The market and problems are ever expanding and with that there are N no of prbs that needs to be addressed.          

There’s a whole other market that is yet unexplored. All we gotta do is to find that one thing that can make us the KING of the market.


FIND ONE NICHE AND EXCEL IN IT:
It is very important to know what trade you want to excel in and be the Master of it.

GLOBAL ECONOMY:
The key points that has to be kept in mind while studying global economics Is that:
1 .     The avg age of india is between 27-28 and it is very doable to make money.
2 .     Debt creates money.
3 .     Deflation of money supply happens when people start repaying debts
4 .     In recession the stronger companies survive whereas the weak ones close down
5 .     Economy of a country goes up when the average age of country goes up, people tend to spend more in such conditions.
                    
What exactly is DIGITAL MARKETING


Because of the never ending needs of humans, a lot of products have been designed, launched and come into existence to fulfill those needs. Now how do we reach out to the audience and make them aware about the products that are available in the market? This is when Marketing plays a big role. Earlier buyers and sellers traded via market but as technology’s improving, there’s no need to have any physical existence as everything’s going digital.
Every consumer’s trying to save time and energy hence their buying pattern’s changing. The consumers have shifted their buying means from non-internet channels to online channels. When marketing of a product meets the technological advances it is provided to go global, that is called digital marketing.
Digital marketing’s nothing but the amalgamation of market plus technology.

The 3 major niches right now there are is HEALTH, MONEY and RELATIONSHIP.

What I learnt from this Assignment:

1.     All is well when you sell
2.     Always follow the golden triangle – learn, do and teach.
3.     Be a marketer first
4.     Follow one niche and excel in it.
5.     Niche is nothing but a combination of PASSION, TALENT n MARKET OPPORTUNITY.
6.     The best known will always beat the best
7.     Building your personal brand is important and you have to put your content out. Never fear of standing out and stop trying to fit in.
8.     Content creation leaves a footprint on internet and the more you do it, more you get the recognition.
Believe in you and show your character/personality on SOCIAL MEDIA.

What's unique is that everything that no one would share is written very honestly. Things like how to come up with jokes, make money, save a show when no one laughs and how to grow as a comedian. The frank and direct way of narration feels like a friend is sharing important tips. Around 40 established comedians from India also share their advices in between sections of the book. This is a must read for anyone who wants to try comedy and explore the profession of Stand-up comedy. So stand up, buy this book, read it and do comedy more efficiently.

Kudos to the author for being brave and writing about his failures in such an amazing and humorous way that you could actually relate to it. Well to start of with the cover i actually liked it that much that i picked up only because of its bright colors and the illustrations itself caught my attention. I read the blurb and within a minute i was reading this book with rapt attention. I got the best of lines of wisdom by the one liners that the author has shared as 1-2 liners, it is par excellence. The illustrations goes well with the context and the best part of this book is, this book can act as an inspiration and can be read by all the age groups. This book is an ode by the author to all those people who are not afraid of failing and are proud to fall only to rise and soar higher, all over again. This book can actually be considered as one Real ‘self help’ book. You can read it as many times as you want and you won’t get bored and this is what the beauty of this book is. No grammatical errors, no errors.
Go for it without even looking at the price.

This book describes an entrepreneur’s entrepreneurial journey and this book is an asset for the entrepreneurs who are trying to enter the healthcare market and try something for their own. The author has brilliant described the process, his personal experiences and easy way to enter this market and to create a product on their own keeping the complexities and India’s environment in mind. What i really liked about this book is the easy going narration and i got to know something about a field and product which was totally new to me. The book is simple without any grammatical mistakes, simple cover and it goes well with the book. This book is a sort of self help book, so it might please the masses but it will surely appeal to the larger audience who are trying to break the shell and get out of their comfort zone and so something for the society.

As soon as i saw this book on bookstore, i couldn't resist myself to pick this book up. the cover was so intriguing and attractive that i just picked it up without even going through the blurb. after reaching home the first thing i did was to read the blurb and i just couldn't stop myself from diving in further. Rasiq's story is not only compelling, its beyond excellence. The book is about an IIT, IIM and a guy who is full of life and ambitions Rasiq who joins the harsh corporate world after completing his studies, within 48 hours of his joining he realises where his destiny has got him into and he gets a taste of hardships that he will be facing as an employee. Though his professional career prospers but his real life starts getting hampered and that is when he realises that he is just not meant for this job and this is the time to follow his true calling and the idea of Daredreamers shapes up. The authors has beautifully described the pros and cons of both being a employee and entrepreneur. The Characters involved makes this book read-worthy and the way they have penned the story around them, makes it read worthy. I just felt the first part as compared to the second and third is quite slow and could have . been a little better only if the author could have omitted the love story of Rasiq and his girlfriend a bit. This book surely has some grammatical errors. The cover goes well with the blurb and story. this book turned out to be a fantastic read and my favorite character was Narad.
