REVIEW
Rarely you come across some books that help in the overall betterment of one's self. rare are those book which answers your queries and help you in knowing the conditions which prevail in today's organisations. this book is a collection of 50 success stories [ arranged in 13 sections, 4 lessons for every month of the year and 2 all time best lessons ]  which actually revolve around the organisational structure and the working of the same. according to the author change and success is not a one time story, it takes a lot of time . so this book provides an insight into what really works in the professional world and raises provoking questions.
what i really liked about this book is that  the author has taken lessons from very basic things and has tried to give an authentic touch to what he wants to express. The author beautifully illustrates his views, correlating them with real life examples like Steve Jobs, angry birds and so on. He not only talks of getting success in one's everyday life but also implicates the message of working on till your goals are not met. He says that many a often we don't get credit for what we do but we shall keep following our dreams and should never give it half way and one day we shall achieve what you strive for.
overall this book is a perfect combination of short success stories and you can slowly read it and imbibe each lesson on one's self to understand this book with a deeper understanding.

RATING:
i would like to rate this book 4/5 and i would personally recommend this book to everyone who are working/ or about to join any organisation [ this book shall mentally prepare you ans will give you a sneak peak of the insights *highly recommended*]

Interview with Abir Mukherjee - Author of SOAR

He made sensational debut with his book called 'As Life Has No Undo'. He got praised for his work and then recently he came up with his second novel named 'SOAR' that made a special place of him within the hearts of reader.
Today we are feeling glad to introduce you to the man who is keeping the faith of readers alive in the Indian Writing in English language, Abir Mukherjee.

********

So, tell us something about yourself.
I was born and brought up in Bardhaman, a small town of West Bengal. I have completed my school and college in Bardhaman. I am currently living in U.S.A and have completed more than 9 years as an IT Professional. I completed my B.E. in computer science and engineering in 2005 and started working in different software MNCs. ‘S.O.A.R-Success Over Adversity Reigns’ is my second novel, published by Leadstart Publishing. Blackbuck Publication has published my first novel, ‘As Life Has No Undo’.

I love to sketch and write in my spare time. The solo purpose of my writing is to entertain people.

When did you first start writing/journey as a writer?
About 4 years back.

How did you come up with your current story?
One of my friends, Kartik had proposed a unique business idea that I had never heard before. I was completely spellbound by that out of box thought. We had planned to implement that along with one of our close friends, Dipanjan. However, we failed to turn that in reality. India is an orthodox country and always reluctant to accept any experimental concept.

That unfulfilled desire might have driven me to write SOAR. Except that business plan, all the characters and incidents have described in SOAR are completely fictitious. SOAR is an attempt to give some justice to that Business plan.

Any one such thing/ place / person which inspires you to write.
All my readers, including my friends, colleagues, and relatives. However, if I have to pick one name out of them, my choice will be my wife, Shilpi.

Tell us something about your debut novella ‘as life has no undo’.
My past, made me to write my first book, 'As Life Has No Undo'. This book is very close to my heart, because not only it is my first book, but also it was more or less influenced by my life. I had to unfold some truth to my friends and other people around me during my college life. What could have been the best way to convey my heart to them than publishing a book?

Any one such review [negative or positive] which you will never forget [for your both novels]?
This is an interesting question. Yes, there was a negative review on my first novel with rating 2/5. I never can forget that review, not for its low rating, but for the justification behind the rating. I like to quote few lines of her review here. The opening line of that review was, ‘I don’t think this was/would be my story. But this is certainly a story which is close to the author’s heart, may be from his personal experience or from the experience of somebody close.’
I like to take this opportunity to request all the reviewers that please do not be biased by your personal choice of genre while reviewing a book.
And I can never forget another review of my second novel on a positive note. That is Komal Priyani’s review and that line – ‘This is the book I want my kids to read in future(Winks) as this book will make them understand that success will come to those who will chase their dreams while maintaining a smart balance between their desires, responsibility and relationship.’

Who is that one person who always pushed you to write and had been your pillar during your ups and downs?
My Wife, Shilpi.

How often do you read and who is that one author who has inspired you to write? Who is your favorite author?
On a serious note, I should start reading every day. However, my work schedule does not allow that.
A huge treasure of literature blesses Bengalis. I had grown up reading few of them by Rabindranath Tagore, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, Satyajit Ray, Shasthipada Chattopadhyay, Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay and Buddhadeb Guha.
Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay is my favorite, because of his captivating style of storytelling and extremely intelligent plots; specially his immortal creation, Byomkesh Bakshi. I had read the complete series of Byomkesh Bakshi.

What are some of the things that you used to write about and perhaps will write about in the future?
Relations and life.

Tell our readers something about SOAR? How this is different from other books?
There are lot of books on different relationships - conjugal relationship, love, friendship, relationship between parents and kids etc. However, what make SOAR distinct from them are its entrepreneurial aspects of three protagonists and their struggle to pursue a nonexistent business in orthodox Indian market along different kind of relational flavors of our life.

That effervescent, rare, and brilliant business idea is the soul of SOAR. In fact I will like to encourage my readers to implement this idea in reality as it is still nonexistent.

Thanks to Leadstart publication for giving me the opportunity to publish SOAR.

What has your experience been in Indian publishing industry and what changes you think are necessary for the growth of authors/publishers. Comment.
My experience is little bitter in Indian publishing industry. For a not so-called known author, it is quite difficult to publish his/her work in India. Traditional publishing is almost a myth now for them.

This industry is not transparent enough. There is no proper process in place for an author to know, how many of his/her books have sold. In spite of writing a good book, authors are bound to bear all kind of expenses for promotion of their books until and unless an author is a self-made brand or celebrity.

In this occasion, I would like to request all the publishers that please encourage the authors. Please help to sustain their art. If you have decided to publish a book after your editorial evaluation, provide your complete infrastructure and service to promote that book; irrespective of author’s background.

It should not be scenario as ‘survival of the fittest’ for the authors. Let their books fight to win hearts.

If you have to define yourself in 3 lines , what will it be?
I am undiplomatic. I believe in hard work. I am success driven.

What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to get into writing?
I don't think, I am eligible enough to suggest anyone on writing. Actually, I am still learning this art. But I like to share few of my lesson learnt from my tiny experience on publishing industry. We shouldn't be afraid of rejections since we have nothing to lose. We should read lot of books, not be inspired by any style of writing or storyline; but to find our unique style of storytelling and plot. Posing our published book with some celebrity, flawlessly photoshoped foreword on our book's cover and other stunts on social networks, only can get us few likes but the readership. We should concentrate on the uniqueness of our plot and work hard to craft our imagination with proper wording.

Any suggestion or any message from your end for your readers or well wishers.
I expect nothing but your appreciation, positive criticism and blessing.

When you held the first paperback copy of your novel , how did you feel?
I felt like, I am holding my baby.

Do you wish to continue writing your current genre or will you change it ever in future?
Frankly speaking, I do not understand this genre concept. I can write of any genre if I feel the plot is unique and interesting.

Whenever you face writer block, what usually you do?
I have not faced yet. I have a lot in my mind yet to pour out.

Any one place whose serene beauty persuades you to write?
Not really.

*****

So this is it. We'll be back soon with some other personality and will look inside his passion for writing some other day. Till then keep reading because 'reading is living.'

Anything to look hot by Jas Kohli - Book Review

About the Book

When the superstar diva of the past decade doesn’t want to play the hero’s mother on screen, she insists that she be reshaped into the most beautiful woman in the world…by any means. This is just one of the many odd situations which plastic surgeon Dr. Dhruv faces in Mumbai. He has dealt with tyrannical bosses and finicky patients while undergoing his training, during which he has also won over a stunning doctor as his life partner. But satisfying the movie stars is a different ball game, because every girl wishes to have bee-stung lips, and every guy wants to flaunt a six-pack abdomen without working too hard. And all this while, he has to resist losing his balance over his ravishing female clients. Dr. Dhruv’s journey surpasses even a masala movie for humour, drama and action. In debunking many a myth about cosmetic surgeries, the book will enthrall those who can do Anything to Look Hot.

Book Review

When a professional person, decides to write about his/her profession, you can expect something as good as ‘Anything to look hot’. Jas Kohli is professional a plastic surgeon himself and with his debut write up, he had tried to put forward the life of a plastic surgeon in front of his readers. His protagonist, Dr. Dhruv Khanna, is a young plastic surgeon and with his first foot into the profession he started wondering about various things that each plastic surgeon must have gone through in his/her life. How far can a person go to retain the looks they had, or wish to have; how a doctor can fall in love with patient even knowing the consequences and many other things.

The book starts up pretty slow but soon picks up the pace as the author gets used to with the theme and start to pour the insight over the reality of the business. Being a debutant, author had shown promising writing skills, the way he had described the character of Dhruv and his lady love Nandini is something to look forward in the book.

Some of the scenes that the author had described are thought provoking and the way the author had put forward the whole book is something that leaves an impact over the heart of the reader.

The only drawback with the book is that the author has gone pretty deep in describing the business of plastic surgery and had made the whole book look like an autobiography. The fiction part lacks. But overall the book has come up with something new in the market.

You can buy the book from Amazon.

#IAm16ICanRape by Kirtida Gautam - Book Review

BLURB

Rudransh Kashyap is a self-made billionaire and man of high moral fiber. His life is shattered when he returns home one day to find that his prodigy, his 16-year-old grandson, Aarush, has been arrested and accused of a brutal gang rape. This case takes an unprecedented turn when Aarush’s identity is made public on social media. Rudransh finds himself living a nightmare as he fights against tremendous odds to get justice for Aarush, to save him and to bring him back home… But what if the unthinkable is true? Can Rudransh save his grandson, or will he end up fighting a different battle altogether?

REVIEW

It’s difficult to write when you have a challenge of writing on something that is controversial and taking this challenge with your debut book is something that is pretty unimaginable but Kirtida Gautam in this debut novel ‘I am 16 I can Rape’ has done something that could leave anyone with a falling mouth.

The title itself, creates the initial momentum that a reader wants before picking up the book. The book is pretty long and the major reason of it is the vast characterization that the author has provided. Each chapter is dedicated to individual character and that provides the reader to indulge in the timeline of the story and think in the same way as the character. Author has done stupendous work in playing with the psychology of different characters involved in the story.

Some of the sequences of the book are written with huge patience just to leave a long term impact over the reader. The much talked ‘Court session’ is something that would not leave you so early. It actually deserves a standing ovation because it must have needed great research to pull out that sequence of the book.

Now coming to the negatives. Actually the positives of the book are also the negatives too, I mean characterization. Author gone across so deep to pull out the character perfectly in the mind of the reader that she forgot the overall story of the book. The theme of the book is not able to hold reader for around 600 pages.

Overall, this book is something out of ordinary. A must read.

simple yet intriguing- it doesn't hurts to be nice- book review

BLURB :
Kiara is a dynamic, thirty-something girl who has reached great heights professionally, and it the apple of the eye for almost everyone who knows her. but she never took any short cuts to become happier, wiser, healthier and more compassionate.

she had to find rays of hope where dark tunnel seemed unending, and identify shade in life's burning path. she found little pearls of wisdom in chasing her dreams, in spreading laughter, in learning from scriptures and philosophers, and even at one point in almost ending her life.

more than kiara's story and the wisdom she achieves through the various dramatic and hilarious experiences, this book is a motion picture with you in the lead role. you as the 'hero' who can beat the most stubborn of villains- most of which lie deep within us.. our fear, unkindness, selfish interests, negative thoughts and jealously. you as the 'heroine' who is sharp and witty in talking, selfless and caring in love, and charming and beautiful inside out, like one other, like none other [ perhaps a 2.0 version of you ]

walk with kiara to find a better you, because it doesn't hurts to be nice....

ABOUT THE AUTHOR :

AMISHA SETHI is a executive scholar from kellogg school of management, northwestern university, chicago and holds an MBA degree in Marketing from Amity business school. she was awarded the ' young women rising star ' at world women leadership congress 2014 and has won numerous awards and recognition in her corporate list. along with hold top notch position in leading companies in the past 13 years, she has also done extensive research in ancient scriptures. in this book, she uses certain hilarious, dramatic and enthralling experience of a young girl to understand the ultimate purpose of life - to be a better human with each passing day.

REVIEW :

Sometimes you come across a book which teaches you in a very profound way and help you in discovering your inner self.. we all are living, but rare are such people whom you met and who help you in living a life which is dedicated to others, and which is lived with a selfless purpose. trust me, rare are such authors who write philosophy and readers just can't keep that book away. one such book is it doesn't hurts to be nice by amisha sethi. it is one heck of a book. kiara's life incidents have been described wonderfully it some good philosophical touch and a pinch of lesson of good deeds at the end makes it even more amazing. i loved the way amisha has used cute cartoon's at the starting which gives a small lesson and a short blurb about what is coming in the next chapters and some really meaningful texts .
kiara's life depicts some events which actually happens in everyone's life and has shown us a way to deal with all the situations in a very simple way. the amount of wisdom amisha has is really amazing. i mean i have never seen an author so knowledgeable and the way she has expressed thoughts through little examples and instances in her book is worth a praise.
teachings have been taken from BHAGAWAD GITA and UPNISHADS and will leave you thinking. she has given the readers a way to live their life and trust me the title goes apt. with the story. overall the book will help you in being positive and will give a positive apprehension to your life.

SOME POSITIVE ASPECTS :
the quotes in the middle are really good
amisha's book will help the readers to be positive and will help them in learning a lot many things

RATING :
title/ book cover : 4/5
story line: 4.5/5
overall : 4.5/5 [ the ending could have been a bit better, as i thought it ended quite hurriedly ]

Me, Mia, Multiple - Book Review

Blurb:

Killing yourself should be easy, right? Pop a few sleeping pills, lie on a railway track and let the train do the rest of the work. Neat, swift, painless. Yet dramatic. What could possibly go wrong with Jeevan Raikar's plan?

Well, this: a girls' night out happening at the graveyard next door, starring a vodka-swilling blackmailer and her dead mother. And so, Jeevan - who ought to be dead by now, mind you - is stuck with bubbly Mia, raging Tanya and sensuous Alisha. Which might seem like an enviable situation to be in, but for one tiny catch. They are all the same person.

Me, Mia, Multiple is a debut that cares little for convention: a romance with a twist, a twisted romance, a romantic twister. Whatever you want to call it, you'll tear through it with sheer pleasure.

Review:

Title of the book plays a major role to hook the attention of the reader. ‘Me, Mia, Multiple’ by Debashish Irengbam was one of the titles that forced me to pick the book as early as possible. I was really excited to flip through the pages and that excitement really paid off.

The book is about Jeevan Raikar who got introduced in the story as being rescued from a Suicide attempt but stay patient; the book is not a boring drama of a suicidal person but is a very hilarious read (Overall, not the whole book). Soon after the rescue thing, Jeevan meets a girl named Mia D’Costa and then begins the real twister and fast paced, unexpected life journey of Jeevan. The book talks about various things but never stops over an issue for longer. Flash Backs and the mystery of girl, makes the reader to go through the pages quickly as everyone is curious to know where the story will end and believe me, the author justifies the end in pretty unexpected way and takes the whole read of the book to the another level.

The story of the book is pretty fast and never leaves the central theme. It keeps you on toes till the very end, and finally with the climax you’ll be bound to bow down in front of the author for creating this masterpiece. The mystic background of the characters always makes you anticipate the story and that’s where the author wins over the heart of reader.

Overall, it would suggest you to please do a favor on yourself and pick the book right now.

"They are ‘SHAMELESS’, the authors who pay to be in National Bestseller list." - Prassant Kevin (Interview)

The day he released his debut novel, it was quiet clearly stated by him that he is here to rule the hearts and now with the announce of his second novel named 'King of Hearts', he somehow proves the above statement true. So here's the glimpse of the chit chat session we had with Prassant Kevin, who is all set to rule the hearts again.

*****

Hi prassant, thank you for agreeing for this interview. Let’s start with a conventional question. Tell us something about yourself?

Kevin - It would be lot easier for me if you had asked me to explain myself in one word coz that would be; Storyteller. That is who I’m. I know nothing else. I am practically good at nothing else. It’s all about words, characters, emotions for me. Apart from writing, movies and music are two other pillars of my life.

When did you start writing and what/who inspired you to begin writing?

Kevin - I started writing from the age of 10 and left my schooling after i completed my tenth board and spent next two years in studying ‘Creative Writing’ coz I always believed that I’m a storyteller and that’s all I wanted to do all my life. I used to write poetry in school for other students who wanted help to impress girls. They often take my poetries and gift them to the girls along with chocolates. That was the major source of my ‘Pocket Money’ in my school days. And the best part was that most of the boys were successful in impressing their girls.

Honestly speaking, it’s the senseless Indian stories which turned me into an author. When I started reading Indian books (which I avoided for a long long time), I felt awfully upset and disappointed. Most of the ‘So-called-famous-authors’ were writing same stories (College romance/ teenage romance) again and again and were enjoying in making fool of Indian readers. It’s when i decided to bring out my first book, Pl Let Me Go’ as I wanted to give Indian readers something which they never tried or heard before; i.e, ‘Post Apocalyptic Genre.’

What prompted you to write such a different and unique novel when your contemporaries are busy in trying their hand at love and motivational stories? What it was like to write ‘pl let me go’ and from where did you get the idea of writing this novel?

Kevin - It’s no secret that in our country people just follow ‘Bhed Chaal’ and that is one reason that every new author in this country wants to be Chetan Bhagat or Ravinder Singh or so on. Putting down 50,000 words don't make you a writer and the way it was and still going that 8 of 10 books are based on senseless romance that it made me completely fed up with the whole scenario. There is nothing wrong with writing romance but there should be some class and grace.

I always believed that writing a book is all about giving something to readers which can heal them, guide them, help them discover their lost path or may give them enough strength to face their own demons and fears. And ‘Pl let me go’ was doing all those things to me. And it was one of those stories which I always wanted to read but couldn't as everyone was busy writing stories to impress the teenagers. So, I can say that I wrote my first book coz I wanted to read it.

Aditya and vaani , both appear like epitomes of love, pain and sacrifice. What do you have to say on this? What is your take on love?

Kevin - Love is all about courage and has nothing to do with desires but unfortunately people believes it vice versa. Aaditya and Vaani were ordinary people who became extraordinary when time and destiny tested them. Through them , i wanted to convey one simple message, and that is without pain and sacrifice, there will be no love. They are the shadows of love. Greater the love, bigger the sacrifice would be; that’s how it goes.

My idea of love is simple- You cannot find love, love will find you. Love will always come to those who will have the courage to sacrifice, strength to fight for right and wrong and willing to walk an extra mile without doubting or raising questions.

Love is about losing every bit of yourself so that someone else can piece their life together.

How did you handle criticism from those who did not like your book?

Kevin - It’s simple. I ask them to wait for my next book and then i forget all about it.

I have heard in today’s scenario, a mere 15k is what all you need to be a NATIONAL BESTSELLER. What do you think on this, according to you someone’s work/hardship should be appreciated or random stupid authors should be awarded with such titles. Comment.

Kevin - The ugly truth is they are ‘SHAMELESS’ the authors who pay to be in Nation Bestseller list are the ones who don't even know the meaning of ‘Bestsellers’. They are the ones who are making fun of Indian Literature. They are the one who had turned writing into business from art.

As we have seen, the announcement of your second novel created a sound buzz in readers [even though it is still in preorders], as is a much talked about book. How is your second novel different from the first one. Beside that you are self published and still you reside in thousands of hearts. How did you managed to get such popularity despite being a debut one. Would you like to share the mantra of your success with your readers.

Kevin - I can answer this question in just one word; Honesty. I am honest with my writing. I don't think about how many copies I will sell or whether my book will come under top 10 amazon ranking. I don't write stories according to market’s trend. I am quite a brutal writer. I only write what i feel like. I don't care about anyone’s opinion, thoughts or criticism. I only prefer to write stories which i think can help in healing a broken soul, mend a broken friendship, fill a void, help in finding lost love and smile and above all it should take a reader to a world from which they never want to return. I like to speak my heart out through my words. I want to write stories which I never got to read as a reader.

Share something about your second novel ‘king of hearts’. How is it different from all the other novels available in market.

Kevin - There are two kinds of books; one which will bring smile on your face and then the other which will change your life forever. ’King of Hearts’ belongs to the latter category. The only reason I wrote this book coz I knew there are millions of people who fear to step out and fight for their dream coz they don't trust their dreams. This book is for all those people who live for their dreams. And i believe that if this book changes even one person’s life, it will do it’s proposed job. Most books in the market are there with the purpose to earn money and fame but ‘King of Hearts’ will be coming to change people lives, help them find their lost dreams, love and friendship. It will be there in the market to inspire people, make them cry and laugh, it will ignite the fire which is missing.

Describe prassant Kevin in 2012 and 2015.

Kevin - In 2012, Google doesn't knew Who I was but in 2015, It recognizes me quite well and that mean ‘I must have done something right, Isn’t?’ Haha.

What are the challenges to make someone read a book?

Kevin - You cannot make someone read a book, just like you cannot make someone love you. See, the thing is every good reader has a curious mind and also a greedy one. They always on the lookout for something new and refreshing. The name on the top of the book (Autor’s Name) doesnt mean anything to them. All they seek is a good story so that they can satisfy their hunger for good and extraordinary stories. So just like we cannot find love and love will find us, it goes same for the readers; we cannot find them as they will find us.

How has been your experience in Indian publishing industry so far and what all changes you want to make. Any bad/good experience you had.

Kevin - Our publishing industry sucks. They don't have any idea what they are doing. They publish stories which they think can earn them money. So they just publish any shit which their famous and bankable authors gives to them. I think they don't even read it before publishing those books. And in away it is right coz if readers don't care what they are reading then why a publisher should worry after all?

And this is one reason that most of the great stories are now coming from self-published authors. They write fearlessly, with complete freedom and do not bound themselves in any set pattern. I am quite certain that the Indie writers of this country are the future of indian Literature..

You have always been saying that king of hearts is a very different and a unique novel. Do you think readers will feel the same. What all expectations you have from this book?

Kevin - It’s a story of a small town boy who went on to become the most celebrated and powerful writer of this generation; it’s definitely the most inspiring, a brutal journey of a writer and how he inspired the whole Nation and changed the entire face of Literature and  redefined Love & Friendship. It’s something which is definitely one of those stories which had never been tried before. It’s fascinating, witty at the same time, heartbreaking, full of energy and fire. And so I hope that it will make a special place in peoples’ heart.

Would you like to share about your future plans with our readers/ or do you have anything in stores for our readers.

Kevin - Currently i am working on a book series. It’s too early to say anything but with time, I will reveal more about this book series.

What message would you like to give to your fans and followers?

Kevin - I am truly grateful and thankful to my readers for giving me so much love and support throughout. I just want to say one thing, actually two thing-

First is that I will try to get better and better so that they never get disappointed in me and secondly - “Always keep your head high and courage in your eyes.”

Stay Blessed. Keep smiling and keep fighting for your love and dreams.

as the title say confess it coz sometimes there is no tomorrow is a love story and is written for all those people who are madly in love with someone and who want to confess their feelings to their someone special. this book revolves around mainly 3 characters, the protagonist rohini [ a chirpy, one man type  gal] who always thought that love was not cup of tea, eventually fell in love with a guy whom she met online. love was not at all in the picture but destiny had it's own plan. rohini fells in love with a guy who was not at all ready to accept her love, while she feels in love heads over heel with someone else . what plans do destiny has in store for her? will she be able to accept her past or will move on with her present? to unfold all the answers of the hidden questions, go through the bumpy ride of 'confess it because sometimes there is no tomorrow'.

positives :
the way parul has narrated the whole story is commendable. you can easily feel a connection with the characters of the story and instantly you will fell lost.

negatives :
the conversation between raj and rohini is extended very much and readers will definitely loose interest

verdict :
overall, a must read story for all the love birds present out there.

rating :
book cover : 3.5/5
blurb : 3/5
story : 3.5/5
overall : 3/5

Interview with Mayank Sharma

Seldom I encounters such interviews where I just lost track of time and continues reading the answers of the author. It was extremely great fun having chat with Mayank Sharma, author of MIRAGE. Enjoy the interview, you'll not regret reading this!

*****

So, tell us something about yourself.

‘Good Question’ ‘Very Good Question’ ‘Bole to mamu jhakkas’….. “Next Question”
I don’t know how to answer this one, as I find a different me with every passing day. However I love travelling, meeting new people, Breathing in the divinity and taking life to the edge, bringing back, and again with full swing. I don’t like defining myself, I believe it confines.

So when did you first start writing/journey as a writer?

End of the past which was present once, and that’s how it began. I was 19, relishing the last year of my teenage and began penning down through poems.

Tell us about your school life and your college life and any one such instance where you realized that you are born to be a storyteller/ writer.

I was a shy guy in school. A guy next door, who speaks less, interacts not often and kept himself confined to certain people. As far as college life is concerned, I have never been to it. There’s no sad story behind, I just didn’t like doing it, studies weren’t my mug of beer since the very beginning, I preferred practical knowledge ;).  I still don’t think I’m born to be a writer, I write because I love doing it, it makes me feel happy. Penning down a couple of pages make me feel alive.

Tell us something about your debut novel ‘A cocktail of love’.

A cocktail of love is a teenager’s story. A journey where he defines love being in school, college and after getting settled in life and eventually lives with love one day without even knowing the reason. The story narrates how ‘we’ take a single fall (as in love) as a massacre or some massive tragedy and leave aside the ‘logic of being alive’. Being logical, I don’t find smart enough to judge ‘love’ and chose it at the age when a person can’t even chose his UG without getting confused.

Any one such review [negative or positive] which you will never forget [for your both novels].

For the first one almost all were same ‘we found our story’ while for the second one ‘Neither I can read further nor I can drop it (the person crying over call)’.

How often do you read and who is that one author who has inspired you to write? Or who is your favorite author?

I read a lot but not the romantic novels and if you’ll notice my both the novels (till date) old a hidden meaning behind a love story.

What are some of the things that you used to write about and perhaps will write about in the future?

I like writing about society and its norms, caged souls beneath a materialistic body and living bodies and freedom.

Tell us our readers something about MIRAGE. How this is different from other books?

MIRAGE… is and will remain my dream story. It helped me find me to a lot extent. It isn’t just a confined love story of a couple but it narrates how love can make you feel alive and grasped in its pure essence.

Now a day people are knowingly portraying their gf’s as dead or resort to narrating sad stories of their lives in order to get sympathy. What’s your take on this, did you wrote such a novel for this purpose, yes or no and if no then why and what difference you have in you in comparison to other authors?

HaHa…!! I’m sure you’d be more than happy to know that all my ex girlfriends are living a healthy life (some with husband and some with boyfriend). I talk to them on regular intervals and also with the ex girlfriends of my friends. SO this implies I don’t have any ‘SAD STORY’ (as they say ‘Pain, Dukh, Dard… ;) humse na ho paaega). I don’t know if other authors do it intentionally or not but I believe in spreading love. How, where and to whom and this is what I portrayed in Mirage.

Your title and blurb is totally different in comparison to the story, why is it so, and what exactly MIRAGE means?

Walking/driving through any highway in burning summer, we can feel the heat soaking all our body water (or of the arena). To an extent we feel the importance and need of water and that’s when we see a Mirage over a distance. In a desert with no man around, we miss society and humans or our home (being precise) and that’s when we see a Mirage. That Mirage which we consider just an optical illusion, I believe is nature’s way of treating us with our need (water, home and so on… Apart from Aishwarya, john or blab la bla… that’ll be hallucination). The blurb narrates a part of story. While writing it I wanted to keep the real essence of story hidden. May be I like being incognito ;).

What has your experience been in Indian publishing industry and what changes you think are necessary for the growth of authors/publishers. Comment.

I had been kind of  ‘ok shokay’ till now. I believe a proper distribution is all the Author and publisher needs. Author wants this to take his/her book to masses while publisher will earn money and can market his name simultaneously.

If you have to define yourself in 3 lines , what will it be?

A free spirited guy. Lives life irrespective of anything that might stop. And Travel, travel and travel…. (the day I’ll stop travelling might be the day my soul will die)

What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to get into writing?

Write what you feel and feel what you write…

Any suggestion or any message from your end for your readers or well wishers.

Never ever make yourself fall prey to presumptions and caged thoughts. You might not have been to Venice but it exists, you didn’t invaded Mt. Everest but many did. Try believing people, spread love as love is the key to success. I’ll explain this:
Hardwork is key to success (as we always heard BUT)
Hardwork comes with dedication, dedication comes with passion and passion is a synonym of love. As I said there are always meaning hidden behind the narrations we received.

When you held the first paperback copy of your novel, how did you feel?

I didn’t believe for long and even today after writing any piece of work, I wonder how I did. ;)

Do you wish to continue writing your current genre or will you change it ever in future?

If you’ll notice, I started changing it. A cocktail of love had lot of love, sex and booze while for second eternity comes in and the third and the coming one’s will be about society, Humans, perspectives and undefined norms that are the biggest obstacle in being alive.

Whenever you face writer block, what usually you do?

Music and travel heals me. I’ll take my guitar, pack my bag and will start the journey. The block vanishes as soon as I unveil my doors of life and love.

Any one place whose serene beauty persuades you to write?

Can’t name one but sitting beside water body, greenery, mountains at a place where I can keep myself away from the crowd.
